Hello Runners!
Safe to say that Mother Nature won last week's race. In hindsight we could have run together on Tuesday, but we will always err on the side of caution when it comes to your safety. However, Saturday was a different story... while not necessarily dangerous, those conditions were difficult. Whether you ran with the group, on your own, or competed in the El Dorado races, give yourself a pat on the back! Was it easy? No. But you did it and that says a lot about your character, and this family!
We are one month away from the Prairie Fire races, and this upcoming week will be one of the toughest training weeks yet, it terms of both mileage and endurance. The next three weeks we will go into taper mode... in other words, the training will get easier as we keep our legs fresh and ready for the upcoming races.
If you have any questions about what to wear on race day, or hydration/nutrition, now is the time to ask myself or Coach Tony. If you wait any longer, especially regarding nutrition, it may be too late to fix things by race day.
Please note the location change Tuesday. We are blessed to be able to use the track at Wichita Collegiate, but they have soccer games on Tuesdays, and we must adjust to their schedule. This week, and next week, we will be at alternative locations... thank you for understanding.
Have a Wonderful Week - Coach Jake and Coach Tony
