Week 10: Aug 24 - Aug 30
Hello Runners and Walkers! Welcome to week 10 of your training session. We're getting closer to our goal race, the Prairie Fire Marathon, Half, and 5K. That day will be here sooner than you think. For now, we want to thank you for all the hard work you have been doing and for trusting us with your training. You have all done such an amazing job, and we want you to know how proud we are of each and every one of you. Let's keep it going.

Nutrition and hydration are very important. If you haven't dialed in what you need, please don't hesitate to get with the coaches or other veteran runners. Your success will depend on how well you prepare.

For the next few weeks, we will practice your race-day strategy. Saturday long runs will be just like race day. Water stops will be approximately 2 miles apart, so every two miles, take a 15-20 second walk as you would at a water stop. If you need water on our long run, get your water and go. Think of your long run as race day, except you'll be running slower. When you get within 1-2 miles of finishing, feel free to start picking up your pace. Saturday long runs should be slower than race pace. Even the greatest runners run their long runs between 50 and 65 percent of their race pace.
