Just a quick note to say thank you for all of the kind words, hugs, etc. It was a tough week for me, and more difficult days are ahead, but I know they will be easier with y'all - my running FAMILY - by my side.
Don't forget, this Saturday is our special run from Scheel's. There will be hydration, and food (cinnamon rolls?) compliments of Scheel's, and this is the kick-off to their week-long sale on all running gear! Doors open at 9 a.m. so half and full will start at 7 a.m. and 5K/10K will start at 8 a.m.
Coach Jake
First and foremost, I want to thank all of you for being a part of our family. I’ve been a part of different running groups, but never did I feel so comfortable in a group as I am now. Until TJ's, all the other groups I’ve ran in were made up of clicks. Don’t take that wrong, they were all really good people, runners, and friends. I wanted a running “family” though. A family that always supported one another, no matter how fast they ran, or how far they ran. A family that realized and understood that we all work just as hard to obtain our goals. Back then I didn’t think about being a coach again, just a family member.
Coaching with Fleet Feet was a start, it just never felt quite right. After a coaching change, the hiring of Coach Jake, all the parts started coming together. With the start of TJ's, and the parting from Fleet Feet, we were able to start doing things the way we wanted, building a family. And today, I am so proud of the family, each and every one of you. Because you share our belief that we are all equal, we all work just as hard, and that 3 miles is 3 miles no matter what, and you all support each other, you have also become MY inspiration as well. The more I see you do the more I want to do. You are all truly amazing and I am so happy to be a part of this family.
