Welcome to the week of the David Goggins Challenge, AKA the 4X4X48! While this will not impact our training on Tuesday and Thursday, Saturday's group run will be a little different, more on that below. This is the first of several special events we have planned this year to help raise money for ICT S.O.S and the Great World Race.
If you are planning on coming to Saturday's group run only, you do NOT need to sign up for the 4X4X48. However, if you plan on doing any number of the 4-mile loops, you will need to sign up at:
Our first run will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, the next one is at midnight, then 4 a.m. Saturday, etc., until 4 p.m. Sunday. If you do every loop, it ends up being 48 miles. In all honesty, it's a FUN weekend packed full of friends, conversation, food, and of course running for a good cause.
Please arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. on Saturday so we can begin our run promptly at 8:00 a.m. If you are coming for training only, your mileage is listed below, and we will all be on the same route, the Red Bud Trail. Dr. Allison from Natural Wellness Physiotherapy will be there between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. doing free injury screenings (and I hear free 5-minute massages are also available). Scheel's and other Great World Race sponsors will be there between noon and 4 p.m. with some goodies.
If running that far is not for you, and/or you have other obligations, you can still help with a food donation. Please see our Facebook Page post and sign-up sheet for what we need.
Cheers to a WONDERFUL and SUCCESSFUL week!
